Install Simple Runtime Window Editor (SRWE).However, some setup and third party software is required for this to work, since the game does not allow you to resize its window by default. The trick is quite simple actually, all we're doing is running the game in windowed mode and stretching it across multiple screens. It allows you to have your monitors at any resolution and orientation combination you desire, as well as remove other limitations. This trick allows you to bypass Nvidia Surround, AMD Eyefinity, or their equivalents. If you’ve ever tried using Nvidia Surround to do any of what I just described, you’ll find that it’s quite impossible. I’m also only using half of the far right screen, allowing me to use the remaining space for other programs.

Portrait side with landscape center triple setupĭetails: The 1440p monitor is running at native resolution (no scaling), and the center right monitor is 4k integer-scaled to 1080p so there’s no blur. Here are some unconventional setups, just to give an idea of what is possible using the tricks in this post. If there is anything you don’t understand or want help with, ask me and I will be happy to assist. I will not be explaining everything in great detail, it’s more of a collection of information and techniques that I hope people will find useful. Note that this post is targeted towards users who have some experience dealing with multi-monitor setups already. As someone actively using 4k, 1440p, and 1080p monitors, I've gathered some information for those of you with less conventional setups, so that you can make the most out of your hardware. Yeah, I think MS just found a possible cash cow, and of course won't ever admit it, or live up the promise they made via their FAQ for quite a long time.In this post, I will show some unconventional ways to set up multiple monitors. This despite the fact that the overwhelming desktop being remotely connected to at businesses is Pro.

That said, if you have an IT department managing your host PC, you probably can't do this, and will have spend $130 to use the Anytime upgrade to the Ultimate version. I have no idea if they'd work for Pro, but my guess is that they would. Apparently it is a single DLL and, possibly, some registry changes.

There ARE programs out there that patch Windows Home to have full RDP hosting (actually, the 2008 server version, which allows multiple remote desktops). Frankly, Microsoft owes this feature to all Win7 users, but Win8 is now the new (and obviously, at the time of this writing, failed) focus of attention. The sad fact is that the Win7 FAQ - for a long time - said ALL versions of Win7 supported multiple monitors through RDP, without qualification.Īfter many users complained of this failing with Win7 Pro as the host, Microsoft fixed it - by changing the FAQ. No matter what settings you use on the client, you will get only a single monitor, if the host is Win7 Pro. The situation is that when Win7 Pro is the host (meaning it is the remote machine), it does NOT provide multiple monitor support.
